Sue Carrell began her real estate career in 1970 in Marin County. Within three years she was awarded the Annual Sales Associate Award by the Marin County Board of Realtors. This award was in recognition of the work that Sue did the previous year. She established an “intern” program at the local community college to educate and inform college-level students about the benefits of choosing real estate as a career choice. The very same day she received the award, she moved to Mendocino to sign papers on an old Victorian house in the town of Mendocino that she renovated into an award-winning Bed and Breakfast Inn on the Mendocino Coast. (www.MacCallumHouse.com) It was the first B&B opened in the town and was featured in Sunset Magazine.

Twelve years later, the inn was sold for a considerable profit and Sue moved to western
Massachusetts where she renovated another two houses, one on Nantucket and one in Northampton. While doing this, she attended UMASS and completed two Masters Degrees in Public Administration (MPA) and Regional Planning (MRP) 1991.

After 10 years of volunteer work, Red Cross, Homelessness Task Force, teaching junior high, and community political activism including a run at
Santa Rosa City Council in 1998, she renewed her real estate license and joined Martin Levy’s Century 21 office. (2003) Martin Levy has been one of the top 4 producers in residential sales at Century 21 nationwide for the past 8 years. He asked her to become his Sales Manager in 2004 for the 20 new agents he had hired. Sue went through the 10 week Broker/Sales Manager Training Course that Century 21 offered to its franchisees. (ORBIT) This was over an 8-month period and required a trip to Las Vegas every month.

After 3 years with Century 21, Sue decided to go into the Commercial side of the business. She moved to North Bay Commercial Real Estate in January 2007. Focused on apartment sales, Sue learned the skills and information necessary to evaluate and analyze the investment returns in commercial real estate. Considering the current market conditions, Sue realized that her income would probably increase and prove to be more stable if she took the Broker’s exam and opened her own business taking care of investor’s properties in addition to selling them. She decided to work with realtors, rather than competing with them. Sue never jeopardizes another agent’s relationship with their client.
